PROGRAMME
Junior A group
/participants up to 11 years of age/
Participants have a free programme (total duration 8-12 minutes), which should include any composition of Arno Babajanyan or another Armenian composer.
Junior B group
/participants 12-15 years of age/
15-20 minutes programme, which should include
- 1st movement of a sonata or sonatina (Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi)
- Any composition of Arno Babajanyan or another Armenian composer
- 1 or 2 compositions of different types on participant’s choice
Young C group
/participants 16-18 years of age/
20-30 minutes programme, which should include
- A composition of baroque style
- 1st movement of classical sonata (Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven)
- Any composition of Arno Babajanyan
- Any composition of XIX century Western European composer (Schubert, Chopin, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Gounod, Liszt, Tchaikovsky)
Young D group
/participants 19-22 years of age/
1st round
15-25 minutes programme
- One virtuoso etude (Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Skriabin, Debussy, Ligeti)
- 1st movement of classical sonata (Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven)
- Any composition of an Armenian composer or the nationality of the participant (foreign participants should introduce scores to the jury)
2nd round
20-30 minutes programme
- Arno Babajanyan - one of the obligatory compositions on participant’s choice:
- “Prelude” and “Dance of Vagharshapat”
- ‘’Impromptus’’ and ‘’Dance of Vagharshapat’’
- Two pictures from “Six pictures” included ‘’Toccatine’’ or ‘’Dance of Sasun’’
- “Capriccio”
- “Poem”
- Any composition of XIX century Western European composer (Schubert, Chopin, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Gounod, Liszt, Tchaikovsky)
- Any composition of XX-XXI century composer (scores are introduced to the jury)
