CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION-FESTIVAL

 

  1. The application is filled out online https://forms.gle/z3J3toxcD6h9SUzRA no later than 5 June, 2025.
  2. Junior and young pianists up to 20 years /inclusive/ can participate in the competition-festival.
  3. The competition-festival is held in two formats

Internal for participants living in Armenia

Online for participants from abroad.

Participants from abroad can also participate in the internal format.

  1. In case of force majeure, the competition-festival will be held online for all participants.
  2. Auditions of online format participants are held by videos.
  3. Online format participants should attach YouTube link of their videos to their applications.
  4. The competition-festival will be of 4 age groups:
  • Junior A group - participants up to 11 years of age
  • Junior B group - participants 12-15 years of age
  • Young C group - participants 16-18 years of age
  • Young D group - participants 19-22 years of age
  1. In Junior A, B and Young C age groups the competition-festival will be held in one round.
  2. Young D group of competition-festival will be held in 2 rounds.

50% of the total number of participants of the first round pass to the second round.

  1. The 1st degree laureates or Grand Prix winners of previous competition-festival cannot become participants of the same age group.
  2. Compositions are to be played by memory /no sheet music/.
  3. All money prizes are parted between participant and teacher.
  4. Participants who will not get a Diploma or a Laureate title will get “Certificates of Participation”.
  5. Online format participants will get electronic version of diplomas.
  6. Playing order of internal format participants is to be determined by ballot.

Auditions of online format will be held according to the order of receipt of applications.

In Young D group the playing order of participants is unchangeable for two rounds.

  1. The competition-festival will be held in the best concert halls of Yerevan.
  2. Young C and D groups participants will have an acoustical rehearsal.
  3. Participants pay for their accommodation and road expenses.
  4. Audio and video recording rights reserves only the organization committee of the competition-festival.
  5. There is a participation fee for participation in the competition-festival, which is to be transferred to the following accounts of “ACBABANK” OJSC:

EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCES

The maximum overall score for a performance is 100 points.

II award laureate – 80- 89 points

III award laureate – 70-79 points

III award laureate – 70-79 points

IV award laureate – 60-69 points

IV award laureate – 60-69 points

V award laureate – 50-59 points

Diploma winner – 50-59 points

Diploma winner – 40-49 points

 

Young D group

 

I award laureate - 95-99 points

 

II award laureate – 90-94 points

 

III award laureate – 85-89 points

 

Diploma winner – 75-84 points

 

 

Participants with a lower score are given a certificate of participation.

Diplomas and certificates of appreciation are sent electronically.

Performances of laureates and Grand Prix winners are posted on the competition's official website.

JURY

 

The jury consists of high-level specialists, professors of conservatories, famous performers.

The jury’s decision is final and is not subjected.

The jury has the right:

not to award or divide awards,

to stop the play if the participant exceeds the mentioned time.

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS /for online format/

  1. The number of videos needed in each group:
  • Junior A group – one video
  • Junior B group – one video
  • Young C group – one video
  • Yung D group – two videos (one for each round).
  1. For equal conditions for performances of both internal and online formats, videos must be without stopping between works and without editing.
  2. Participant`s face and hands should be seen in the video.
  3. Before performing participant, facing the camera, should announce his/her name, surname, age group, and the following text: “For Arno Babajanyan international VIII competition-festival of pianists”
  4. Videos that do not correspond to the above-mentioned requirements will not be accepted.
